Meenakshi Rishi is a Professor in Economics at Seattle University. She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Economics at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Her research interests are in development economics, international finance, entrepreneurship, and energy economics.  She teaches Global Political economy, Asian Economic Development, and Macroeconomics. Her scholarly work focuses on capital flight, institutional approaches to development, International finance, and entrepreneurship.  Her publications include articles in the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, Journal of Development Studies, Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics, and the Journal of Developing Areas.   Meenakshi is an active volunteer for programs organized by Seattle’s South Asian community.  She is also involved in theatrical productions around town!
